Terms and Conditions

The BestWeb.LK Competition is open to all websites registered under .lk domains (.lk/gov.lk/ac.lk/sch.lk).
Applications must be completed by paying the Rs. 2,500 application fees, and processing of application will only occur after payment.
Websites containing any of the following will not be eligible:
- Illegal, obscene, abusive, or preposterous content.
- Websites judged to be of poor quality, in bad taste, or having defamatory content.
- Websites deemed unsuitable for the Competition by the judging panel for any reason.
Multilingual websites are eligible only if content is available in Unicode standards.
.com or redirecting sites are not eligible for the Competition.
The BestWeb.LK logo must be displayed on the website throughout the competition until the final judging date. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
Participating .lk domains should not be expired at the time of applying and throughout the competition period.

Winners of TopWeb.LK from September to May will receive direct access to the competition. E.g. – September 2023 to May 2024 winners will receive direct access to BestWeb.LK 2024 competition.
No application fee is required for BestWeb.LK competition.
Direct inclusion in BestWeb.LK competition without the need for reapplication.
Relevant website owners must provide category selection and required information.
All other BestWeb.LK terms and conditions, except as specified above, apply and are enforced consistently.

A website is considered entered into the Competition upon payment of the Rs. 2,500 application fee and receipt of an acknowledgment email from [email protected]
The application fee is nonrefundable.
The registration link for the Competition will be provided during the Registration Period at www.bestweb.lk
Candidates are required to specify the Award Category at the time of applying for the Competition.
If the applied Award Category is found to be mismatched with the actual website, there is an option to change the participating Award Category as mutually agreed in writing. However, the final decision rests with the panel of judges.

- The Domain Registrant or Admin can submit the online application directly via https://rs.domains.lk/myaccountlogin.
- Technical, or Billing Contact of the domain can also submit the online application. However, the consent of the Domain Registrant is mandatory.
- If none of the domain contacts mentioned above are applying, the consent from the Domain Registrant is mandatory. This can be confirmed through the link sent to the Registrant / Admin at the time of submitting the application or by sending a written consent to [email protected]

- For gov.lk or other .lk domains not administered by LK Domain Registry (e.g., ac.lk, sch.lk, etc.), the Webmaster or any authorized officer can submit the online application via https://rs.domains.lk/myaccountlogin. The following process needs to be completed:
  1. 1. Print the acknowledgment email received at the time of submitting the application.
    2. Obtain the Authorized Officer/Commissioner’s signature with the Official Seal.
    3. Scan the original signed document and submit it through the system applied for the Competition or email it to [email protected]

All applicants must be accessible through the contact details they have provided.
Applicants are expected to diligently follow up on all emails sent during the Competition and respond promptly.
The judges retain the right to request additional information, and if not received promptly, they reserve the right to reject a registered website for not aligning with the correspondence criteria.

The voting period lasts for two (02) weeks.
Voting is open to anyone, accessible through login to the voting panel using their email address or mobile number.
Each person is allowed to vote for only one website per Award Category (https://www.bestweb.lk/award-categories/) during the voting period.
Any fraudulent or multiple votes will be discarded, and websites associated with fraudulent votes may face disqualification.
Securing the highest number of votes in a particular category alone does not guarantee a website’s victory. The website must also adhere to the forthcoming voting criteria, which will be announced shortly. Compliance with these criteria is essential for winning.

Upon passing the preliminary security scan, it is mandatory to display the BestWeb.LK logo on the respective website. Details regarding the logo will be conveyed through email.
The design of the provided logo should not be modified under any circumstances.
All Applicants/Competitors are strongly advised to ensure continuous display of the logo throughout the competition until the final judging is complete (refer to the timeframe for specific dates).
Websites failing to display the logo during the competition period will be disqualified.
The voting link for selecting popular sites will also be connected to the same logo during the subsequent voting period.

Winners have the right and are encouraged to display the respective Winning Logo on their website.
The Winning Logo provided by LK Domain Registry for the respective winners must be used.
Winners may use the Winning Logo in their promotional material/advertisements along with the winning website.
The logo should be exclusively displayed on the winning site.
Violation of any conditions stated above may lead to action to revoke the respective winning title.

In case of conflicts during the competition, the decision of the judges will be deemed final.
Competitors found influencing the judges or engaging in the promotion of negative information regarding competitors will be immediately disqualified from the competition.
The selection of winning websites is solely at the discretion of the judges and is non-negotiable by applicants.
Selected websites may undergo an external website scan during the “Review of application period” mentioned in the “Time Frame” (Until Releasing the Results) to assess eligibility based on the website’s security perspective. Weak security websites will be notified to re-design or re-structure immediately to remain in the competition, if competitors are unable to rectify security issues within the stipulated time provided by the BestWeb.LK technical team and fail to notify them accordingly, disqualification will be enforced.
In the event that insufficient entries are received for the new categories as listed, the judges reserve the right to merge these categories for the purpose of ensuring fair competition. Participants will be duly informed of any such category merges prior to the commencement of the evaluation period, allowing for timely adjustments to their submissions.
